After the last several years of getting to know Steven Odell, I must say, Steven is a very unique character! He is known for creating tea experiences, crystal wands, and art which vaguely resembles something created by an elf who decided to take up taxidermy. One day he shared with me the secret to shaping his wands. It was a senior center doubling as a lapidary center for a few hours on the weekend. This opened the doors of possibility, to the world of cutting and shaping Ye Ming Zhu.
When Steven approached me with the idea of making glowing wands, without hesitation I did everything I could to help bring that dream to life! Now, after several years of creations and experimentation, we have some amazing collaborations to share with you.
Presenting Second Nature Subtle Tools
It has been my passion to uncover the forgotten and hidden memories of magic of this planet since I was a child. Back then, I would wander the woods and creeks of my hometown asking the rocks, feathers, moss and bones for answers. They taught me a lot about subtlety and listening to the quiet voices calling out all around us.
I have been a self-learned student of the mysteries for 13 years. I have immersed myself in studying the topics esoteric history, cha chi (tea energy), cryptozoology, cryptomemology, crystal consciousness and multiple modalities of self-healing. Awakening to our personal mythology, to me, is the key to our evolution and survival on this Earth we call home. It is how we become sovereign, joyous beings of space and time while still being rooted in the present with respect and compassion for the interdependent reality we all share. May we all fully awaken to this magical reality coursing through the presence of every moment.
Getting to know Steven Odell
What creatively fuels your inspiration?
Redwood bark, Cosmic debris, Moss, Wet earth in my hands after the rain, the glow of Ye Ming Zhu, 1970’s synth ambiance, tea in silence, tea in nature, poetry about this moment, presence, authentic self-expression, honesty, passionate explorations of visionary truths, soft animals, the stars, the stars, the stars, listening to others unique perspective’s on unexplainable phenomena, the inner paths to outer space
What got you into your craft?
I got into my space craft through blindly jumping off a cliff inside and trusting that the hovering time/space vehicle I call home was within each moment found in meditation, blindly reaching through form, quietly learning how to listen and embrace my inner voice and more directly, trusting the voice in my heart that said, “If you don’t listen to me and trust that this is what you are supposed to be doing because it is who you are, you might as well be dead.”
Where to do see your work expanding to?
A lot of focus has gone into the wand inventory. I would like to expand the subtle tool collection to provide healing arts tools that play on reality and perspective. Thus inviting people to expand their awareness of what is truly present for us here this deeply magical, fabulously ancient earthly realm.
What interests you about Ye Ming Zhu?
Ye Ming Zhu has always been the most perfect high strangeness to my being. It exists clearly and yet it stand oscillating on the edge of being. While one is holding it, it is present in the evident plane of reality while at the same time feeling the timeless actuality of immortal, translight energy intelligence coursing within. It reminds me that we, in turn, are that light beyond light as well. As we travel deeper into the Age of Great Remembering, Ye Ming Zhu is a herald of that translight state of consciousness that illuminates all things and form. It teaches me that we are the extraterrestrials we have been waiting for. There is no question about it. It reminds me, “Everything is going perfectly according to plan.”
